Privacy Policy
One Tap Journal · Last updated: 1 June 2026
One Tap Journal (“the app”, “we”) is a local-first journaling app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how your privacy is protected.
Data stored on your device
The following is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage, and is never sent to us:
- Your daily moods, one-line notes, and their dates
- Your streak history
- Your settings (reminder time, theme, language, time format, app-lock preferences)
- Your app passcode, if you set one
You can export your entries at any time via the system share sheet; where that exported data goes is then up to you. Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
Advertising
The app displays ads through Yandex Mobile Ads (additional ad networks may be used via mediation in the future). To deliver and measure ads, the ad provider may process information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device type, and ad interactions. This processing is governed by the ad provider’s own terms and privacy policy:
- Yandex Mobile Ads: yandex.com/legal/mobileads_sdk_agreement
On iOS, we ask for your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any advertising-related tracking. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
Permissions we may request
- Notifications — to send the daily reminder and monthly nudges you enable. These are local notifications; we do not run a push server.
- Face ID / biometrics — used only to unlock the app via your device’s secure authentication. Biometric data is handled entirely by your operating system and is never accessed or stored by the app.
- Tracking (iOS) — only for advertising, as described above.
Data we collect
We, the developer, do not collect, store, or receive your personal data or journal content. The only third-party data processing is by the ad provider described above.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
